U.S. Congressman Marlin Stutzman serves parts of Randolph County, including Winchester, and has seen the damage left behind by last month’s historic flooding. Stutzman tells “Delaware County Today” he’s been uplifted by the response.
PetSmart is providing aid to Muncie-area families recovering from last month’s historic floods. Tomorrow (September 16), they will distribute about 1,300 bags of free cat and dog food from 3 to 7 p.m. at the PetSmart location on Muncie’s Morrison Road.
Muncie 47-year-old Christopher Tyler Kirkland was arrested Saturday on suspicion of battery. The Star Press says Kirkland barricaded himself inside a home on West Washington Street around 11:30 a.m. after allegedly battering his mother and threatening to kill her and his daughter.
The 50th annual James Dean Festival will take place September 25-27 in Fairmount. That Friday will feature a concert by “Detroit,” a Journey Tribute band, at 7:30 p.m. Saturday’s headliner will be “Music City Stones,” a Rolling Stones Tribute band, at 8:30 p.m.
Ball State will host an Adult Physical Fitness Open House tomorrow (Wednesday) from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Student Recreation and Wellness Center in Room 135. Attendees will receive a special limited time offer toward joining the program that’s redeemable through October 23.
The American Red Cross will hold blood drives in Muncie today (September 15) from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital and September 23 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Multicultural Center on North McKinley Avenue.

Today is National Voter Registration Day, and the League of Women Voters of Muncie-Delaware County is encouraging everyone to check their voter registration at Vote411.org. They will also host registration events from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Ivy Tech Community College and during the Old Washington Street Festival on September 19 and September 20.

62-year-old Peter Fagan was pronounced dead Saturday after being struck by a vehicle near the entrance to Mounds State Park on State Road 67. The Herald Bulletin says the accident occurred around 10 p.m. 28-year-old Samantha Dean Abbott was the driver of the vehicle.
Save the date – the fifth annual Calling Men to Pray event will take place October 17 from 7:30 a.m. to noon at Muncie Central High School. Registration is free. Men Leading Men Ministry will conduct a community service project after the prayer, and pizza will be served after the service project.
