According to Cory Kissick, Delaware County EMA Director, Community of Hope on Main Street is the new shelter with 15 checked in overnight. Previously, Grace Baptist Church was housing some, but they “stood down” their center after being open for several days (and nights).
An outpouring of groups, churches, businesses and more have activated food and clothing drives, cleaning supply efforts, meal services and more. This catastrophic situation has brought out the best in people – and the worst. Reports of scammers trying to take advantage of people with promises of flood mitigation, and even setting up go fund me type pages, with no promise of getting the funds to thier intended target. Please be cautious with your generosity. We are efforting and vetting as best we can, and will report on Radio, and here.
