MUNCIE, IN—The Halteman Village Neighborhood Association invites neighbors, families, and friends from across Muncie to join us for the 4th Annual Neighborhood Park Party at Halteman Park on Saturday, June 13, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The annual event has become a summer tradition in Halteman Village, bringing residents together for an afternoon of food, music, games, and family-friendly activities in one of Muncie’s neighborhood parks.
This year’s Park Party will feature music, bounce houses, a dunk tank, games, food trucks, vendor and crafter booths, touch-a-truck activities, and opportunities to enjoy the park’s splash pad, pickleball courts, basketball court, playground, and open green space.
The day will begin with a pickleball tournament from 8 a.m. to noon, where players will compete for the coveted Halteman Pickle Award. From noon to 2 p.m., guests can take part in a basketball free-throw contest featuring some of Muncie’s finest. The dunk tank will run from 1 to 3 p.m., giving attendees a chance to dunk local VIPs.
Food and beverage vendors scheduled for the event include Outlaw’s Chicken On-A-Stick, Mama Rucks Soul Food, Twisters To Go, Iceburg Ice Cream, JD Concessions, and Hawaiian Ice. The event will also include classic outdoor games such as corn hole, can jam, and hillbilly golf.
A highlight for families will be the touch-a-truck area, where children can get an up-close look at several local trucks and cars. Scheduled vehicles include a Muncie Sanitary District recycling truck, a Muncie Fire Department ladder truck, a Muncie Police Department cruiser, a Midwest Thunder Roadsters car, and a Crown Vic race car.
The Park Party is designed to celebrate not only Halteman Park, but also the neighborhood spirit that has helped make recent park improvements possible. Over the last several years, neighbors, community partners, and local supporters have worked together to invest in the park as a gathering place for children, families, and residents of all ages.
“Halteman Park is more than a park,” said J.P. Hall, president of the Halteman Village Neighborhood Association. “It is one of the places where our neighborhood comes together. The Annual Park Party is a chance to celebrate that — to welcome new neighbors, reconnect with familiar faces, and enjoy the public spaces that help make Muncie’s neighborhoods strong.”
The Halteman Village Neighborhood Association encourages residents to bring their families, invite friends, and spend the afternoon enjoying the park. Whether you come for lunch, the splash pad, the bounce houses, the trucks and cars, the games, the dunk tank, or simply to spend time with neighbors, all are welcome.
The 4th Annual Neighborhood Park Party will take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at Halteman Park, near Lincolnshire Drive and Lancaster Drive.
