Fireworks in Muncie this week. A gathering called Elevate 2026 will include convention visitors doing demonstrations of pyro for selling-demonstrations, at the Muncie Fairgrounds. You are going to hear multiple loud fireworks going off. The schedule shared by the Fair Board, as approved by the City of Muncie:

Friday and Saturday (April 10 – 11) 8pm – 10:30pm
Delaware County 911 Communications Center posted this week, County officials posted “Please do not call 911 or dispatch to complain about the noise from the event.”

The Indiana State Police Capital Section is accepting applications for traditional and lateral applicants through 11:59 p.m. on May 17. Applicants must be U.S. citizens, 21 years old and other requirements: meet a minimum vision standard, possess a valid driver’s license and hold a high school degree or its equivalent.
The City of Alexandria has announced updates to the use of Madison County EMA outdoor warning sirens. The sirens will now be activated for tornado warnings issued by the National Weather Service and severe thunderstorms with predicted winds of 70 mph or greater, even if no tornado warning has been issued.
