MUNCIE, IN— The 2026 Greater Muncie Chamber of Commerce Legacy Dinner was held Wednesday, October 21 at the Horizon Convention Center honoring Vicki Veach, Retired Executive Director of the Muncie Downtown Development Partnership.
Among those who paid tribute to the legacy of Veach were Jeff Scott, Chancellor of Ivy Tech Community College-Muncie; Geoffrey Mearns, President of Ball State University; James Borgmann, Partner at DeFur Voran; Kim Dodson, Chief Executive Officer of The Arc of Indiana; Nick Tokar, Founding Attorney of Tokar Law; Lathay Pegues, President/CEO of JohnTom’s Barbecue; and Will Isaacs, Certified Financial Planner Practitioner at Wealth Strategies.
Allison Robbins, Chairman of the Greater Muncie Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors presented the award to Veach.
“Vicki has accomplished more than most people could ever imagine. But the real measure of her success isn’t the events she’s created, the projects she’s led, or even the organizations she’s helped build. It’s the people she’s brought together. The doors she’s opened. The confidence she’s inspired in others. And the belief she’s instilled that, by working together, we really can make our community better,” said Robbins.
The Greater Muncie Chamber of Commerce Legacy Award is presented annually to an individual who has made extraordinary, sustained, and positive contributions to the Muncie-Delaware County community at large, and who has provided leadership in the development of programs, events, and new traditions that promote goodwill and community pride.
Indiana Michigan Power served as the event’s presenting sponsor.
