Ball State University research found no statistically significant negative effect on Indiana home values tied to proximity to large wind farms or utility-scale solar projects. The findings were outlined in a new research brief from Ball State University’s Center for Business and Economic Research, according to a community announcement. The brief draws on two larger studies that examined residential property sales near renewable-energy developments across Indiana using home sales data from 2004 to 2024.
Muncie 38-year-old James P. Clark Jr. has been arrested in connection with a fatal Labor Day shooting in the city. The Star Press says Clark was arrested Tuesday in Whitestown. He’s also the subject of two unrelated warrants in Madison County.

A 17-year-old has been arrested in connection with an early Sunday morning fatal shooting on Anderson’s Madison Avenue. Anderson Police told Woof Boom News the arrest occurred Tuesday, and the Madison County Prosecutor’s Office has 72 hours to file former charges.

An armed robbery at a business in the 2000 block of Mounds Road in Anderson Wednesday night resulted in the assault of a store employee. Anderson Police say suspect then took an undisclosed amount of cash from the register before fleeing the area on foot. They describe him as a black male, wearing a Notre Dame long-sleeve shirt, black shorts and socks, white tennis shoes, and a black stocking cap. Detectives are continuing to follow leads and ask your help if you have any information.
Muncie 45-year-old Daniel Joseph “Hellraiser” McCormick has been charged with selling fentanyl to an informant for the Muncie-Delaware County Drug Task Force. The Star Press says McCormick was convicted in 2013 dealing in meth.
Madison County surveyor Ken Kocinski asked for $300,000 to begin removing logjams from local waterways caused by last month’s flooding. The Herald Bulletin says the Madison County Council has approved $150,000. The council also denied a request to hire a new employee.
