Yorktown’s school campuses were submerged during the recent historic floods. But superintendent Greg Hinshaw tells “Delaware County Today” while some middle school athletic fields were heavily damaged, water only found its way into the basement of two buildings.
The Delaware County Sheriff’s Department responded to a 911 call around 5:30 p.m. on Sunday after a family member found an unresponsive boy in the home’s swimming pool. The Star Press says the boy is believed to be in stable condition at a local hospital but not breathing on his own.

Anderson 61-year-old Norman Dewayne Anderson Sr. has been sentenced to nine years in prison after pleading guilty to possession of cocaine in Delaware County. The Star Press says Anderson has been convicted of 21 felonies and 22 misdemeanors.

Elwood 41-year-old Matthew Deprez has been convicted on two counts of child molesting. The Herald Bulletin says the girl’s age has not been released, but she’s described as “very young.” Deprez faces up to 24 years in prison.
Latin Grammy-winning Flor de Toloache will perform a free outdoor concert on Saturday at Ball State’s Brown Family Amphitheater. The concert is part of the Muncie Three Trails Music Series. Cincinnati-based Estrada do Sol is the opening act.
The YWCA of Central Indiana is among 34 businesses and organizations honored by governor Mike Braun with the Governor’s Century Business Award or Half Century Business Award. The Muncie chapter of the YWCA was founded in 1911.
