35 years in prison, for the Jan. 2022 death of Timothy Hahn. That was the sentence for Kenneth R. Burden (DOB 5/31/1967) by judge John M. Feick, yesterday in Delaware County Circuit Court No. 4. On June 2, 2026, Judge Feick found Burden guilty of Voluntary Manslaughter, a Level 2 felony. The Court also found Burden to be an habitual offender in that he has accumulated at least two (2) prior unrelated felonies, those being Armed Robbery and Burglary. After the sentencing hearing, Delaware County Prosecuting Attorney Eric Hoffman said “Another violent repeat offender has been taken off the streets by the hard work of the Muncie Police Department and the Delaware County Prosecutor’s Office. I am proud of Deputy Prosecutors Lexi Starost and Mike Bozoian, Prosecutor’s Office Investigators Heather Stanley and LeAnna Smith, and Muncie Police Detective Dustin Lee for their hard work and dedication in this case.”

It’s time for the Indiana State Fair. Festivities begin with the annual State Fair Band Day on Friday and continue through August 23. Director of media engagement Leroy Lewis tells “The Anderson Journal” hundreds of thousands will visit during the fair’s run.
The Anderson Housing Authority unveiled the new name of the former Lincolnshire Apartments last week during a grand opening ceremony. The new name is Topper Terrace at Lincoln, in honor of long-time Housing Authority board member Terry Taylor – who died last year.
Purdue and Muncie Central legend Ryan Kerrigan will join Big Ten Network’s on-air roster for the 2026 season. Kerrigan starred for the Boilermakers from 2007-10 and then played 11 seasons in the NFL, mostly with the Washington Commanders.
Hartford City 43-year-old Jonathon H. Wolfgang was charged last week with three counts of possession of a destructive device. The Star Press says police found explosives – including at least two pipe bombs – in the attic of the detached garage on his North High Street property. Meth also was found in the home. Wolfgang is on probation following a cocaine conviction in December.
