The U.S. House passed the bipartisan BARCODE Efficiency Act, a bill co-led by Indiana Congressman Rudy Yakym. The bill requires the IRS to use scanning technology to speed up processing of paper tax returns, cut down on errors and get refunds to taxpayers faster.

The Anderson Plan Commission has approved a secondary plat for a second hotel at the intersection of I-69 and Scatterfield Road. The Herald Bulletin says the plat was requested for a 92-room Avid hotel. It would join the already open Tru by Hilton at the site.
