33-year-old Trinton Skyler Ogle has been arrested on suspicion of assaulting a female acquaintance. The Star Press says Ogle is accused of rape, kidnapping, criminal confinement, intimidation and domestic battery – among other charges – against his girlfriend of six months.
30-year-old Bekzhan Beishekeev faces criminal recklessness charges stemming from a February crash that killed four Jay County residents. The Star Press says Beishekeev was taken into custody by ICE agents after the crash on State Road 67 and was transferred back to Jay County from a jail in Kentucky last week.
The Village Green will soon be developed at the southwest corner of Muncie’s Martin Street and University Avenue. Ball State president Geoffrey Mearns told “Delaware County Today” some of the plans slated for the area currently occupied by a former bank building and a parking lot.

NTN Driveshaft announced last week it is realigning its operations in North America, and part of that realignment will include closing one of its Anderson production lines by 2028. The Herald Bulletin says NTN plans to retain a strong presence in Anderson despite the cutback.
The roller coaster weather has taken a toll on the Anderson Christian Center. Executive director Rob Spaulding told the “Anderson Journal” a 6×10 portion of an exterior wall fell out recently. There are still two layers remaining, but it will be a challenge to properly replace.
36-year-old Aaron Kyle Morris is accused of pressuring his girlfriend to recant domestic battery allegations against him. The Star Press says police reviewed recordings of two “video visitations” during which Morris apologized for his actions and asked the woman to recant. He’s scheduled to go on trial on confinement and domestic battery charges on May 18.
Muncie’s Fallen Heroes Bridge on Wheeling Avenue will be the site of a “No Kings 3” rally on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The rally hosted by Muncie Resists is part of a nationwide effort expected to include protests in more than 1,800 cities.
The Alexandria City Council has tabled a vote on potential utility rate increases for the third time, citing a need for additional information. The Herald Bulletin says the city approved a sanitation rate increase in March as it prepares for a $15 million project to overhaul its sewer system.
Legal woes continue to mount for 38-year-old Kenneth Edward “KJ” Swift Jr., who was arrested last week and faces multiple charges after being found slumped over the wheel of his vehicle with heroin in the vehicle. Swift already faces July 21 trials for his alleged role in a 2023 fatal drug overdose and a separate charge of domestic battery from later that same year.
The Madison County Community Foundation is hosting a Women in Philanthropy luncheon on April 16, and communications manager Tamara Dreger told the “Anderson Journal” three finalists will have a chance to earn a significant grant.
Liberty Christian’s archery team scored 3,199 points Saturday in the National Archery in the Schools Program’s Indiana State Bullseye Tournament at the Indiana State Fairgrounds and has advanced to the NASP Eastern Nationals for the fifth straight year. The nationals will take place May 7-9 in Louisville.
