“Illuminate the Arts,” a documentary directed by Ball State professor and Delaware County historian Chris Flook, premiers tomorrow (Thursday) during Cornerstone Center for the Arts’ 20th anniversary fundraiser. A two-vehicle collision on U.S. 27 claimed the life of a Portland man on Friday. The Star Press says 64-year-old Randall Roll was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident at the intersection with Jay County Road 800 South. Roll’s 73-year-old passenger also was injured and taken by ambulance to a local hospital after a pickup truck ran a stop sign and collided with Roll’s vehicle.

A former Pendleton Correctional Facility sergeant has reached a plea agreement admitting he deprived an inmate of his rights in March 2024. The Herald Bulletin says Shaunacy Edmonds would serve 10 years in prison and face a $250,000 fine under the deal. Edmonds was indicted in December 2024 on accusations he beat a handcuffed inmate in the prison infirmary.
MuncieArts is celebrating its 15th anniversary. Formally named the Muncie Arts and Culture Council, the Star Press says the organization promoted public art supported local artists since its incorporation in 2011 and has evolved into the city’s official arts partner.
