April 2013
Congratulations to April's STEM Educator of the Month, Mrs. Vicki Blair!
Sandy was nominated by Elwood High School Principal, Mr. Retherford.

"She is currently leading the math department at ECHS through two major educational changes this year.  She has been instrumental in moving our Algebra 1 curriculum from textbook-based to computer-based by bringing ALEKS to ECHS.  She has also led implementation of the 8-step process, an educational reform process.  Finally, Mrs. Blair is serving as a mentor teacher to two first year math teachers and is also mentoring a student teacher."

March 2013
Congratulations to March's STEM Educator of the Month, Mrs. Brenda Campbell!
Brenda was nominated by coworker Ms. Moore.

"Brenda Campbell is a perfect candidate for this award because she brings her knowledge of engineering to students in her math, science, and Project Lead the Way classes. She spends many hours after school helping students with math and engineering projects. She has helped numerous undecided students find direction and motivation as they made career goals in engineering as a result of classes with her."
February 2013
Congratulations to February's STEM Educator of the Month, Mrs. Sandy Cowgill!  Sandy was nominated by Muncie Central High School Principal, Tom Jarvis.
"I would like to nominate Mrs. Sandy Cowgill as Educator of the Month from Muncie Central.  Mrs. Cowgill works countless hours outside the classroom helping others.  She tutors students before and after school, and she helps coordinate all the data and lesson plans for our Algebra students that need remediation.  She also coordinates our math honorary students, and these students tutor other students that may need help in algebra or any other math class offered at Muncie Central.

Mrs. Cowgill is one of the most dedicated educators I have seen in my 27+ years in education.  She is a ‘TEAM’ player in every sense of the way.  Mrs. Cowgill is the standard everyone else should be measured against.  Thanks for her consideration as Educator of the Month!"
January 2013
Congratulations to January's STEM Educator of the Month, Doug Tipton!
Doug was nominated by Jay County Superintendent, Dr. Tim Long.

"Mr. Tipton has implemented one of the finest Robotics Programs in the United States during the last five years.  Our teams have consistently been at the top of the World Championships for the last 5 years competing against teams from all over the world in Vex Robotics. Mr. Tipton's students excel in college, and he is a cancer survivor.  A testament to courage and dedication.  We are very proud of him."
